Job Purpose:
|
Administer and Maintain all Babel Business Systems software and databases.
|
|
Scope of Role:
|
Working closely with the Senior Network Administrator, the Business Systems Administrator will provide expert support and administration to all Business Systems required for the operation of Babel. For the purpose of this job description, Business Systems refers to all front-end and back-end networked applications.

Atlassian Confluence

SpiraTest

Custom reports spanning all silos

Customized “Babel” Applications

Note: Actual networking and server installation/maintenance/backup is handled by the Networking group.

|
Key Responsibilities:
|
-
Maintain and administer all Business System applications.
-
Act as primary DBA for enterprise. (Including backup strategy)
-
Become educated on, and provide full support for all babel “Operations” applications to maintain a 24X7X365 functioning environment.

Work with Director of I.T., Head of Project Management and Senior Network Administrator to coordinate all software development projects.

Oversee development partners to ensure adherence to Babel standards.

Provide basic Webmaster functions such as patching, security and basic scripting.

Other Duties:

Take ownership of assigned helpdesk tickets as required.

Work on assigned projects as a team member or team leader

Perform other related duties as assigned

Essential Experience
Skills, Knowledge and Ability
|
Essential ONLY:
-
Bilingual English and French
-
5 years experience with Microsoft “Back-Office” products such as CRM, SharePoint, Project.
-
Microsoft Certified I.T. Professional Certification (MCITP): Database Administrator. (Additional MCITP/MCTS certification considered valuable.)

Customer service experience and skills
-
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Flexible mindset and willing to adjust and change on the fly

Patient, personable, high energy, dependable, positive attitude

Ability to handle pressure situations

Desire to take ownership of problems – self starter

Desirable:

Previous experience working in the Gaming industry.

Familiar with LAMP development and support.
